Membership Requirements

  • Must be between the ages of 21-49

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Music or Equivalent (formal or informal). Equivalency shall be at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

  • Overall vocal quality, sight-reading ability

  • A kind and professional demeanor

  • Membership dues are $50 per semester (fall and spring). Dues cover the cost of music and your VOA t-shirt.

auditions

Auditions are heard on a rolling basis throughout the year. To learn more about the audition process, send an email of interest to thevoicesofappalachia@gmail.com. All auditions include a song of your choosing (accompanist provided) and a sight-reading example.

Rehearsals

The Voices of Appalachia meet bi-monthly Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, 402 2nd St. SW, Roanoke, VA 24011. At the director's discretion, additional rehearsals may be added closer to performance dates.
